The internationally recognized education nonprofit Khan Academy selected the new history program from Extra Credits as one of 10 winners of its first ever Talent Search!Extra History has thrived on the channel ever since its introduction, applying the same ideas that make games fun to help viewers learn to love history.
“We’ve spent billions of dollars in the entertainment industry learning how to get people excited about movies and games,” said James Portnow, writer and co-creator of Extra Credits and Extra History. “It’s time we apply that knowledge to education.”
Being named a winner of the Talent Search gives Extra Credits the chance to collaborate with the world-class educators at Khan Academy, whose resources are used by learners in 190 countries worldwide.
